Social networking can be a useful tool when boosting your company’s SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Here are a few tips to get you started:

Grab social media names for your company. Simply fill out the profile for your company. You don’t have to be an active member to sign up. Do this for all of the major social networking sites: Twitter, Digg, Facebook, StumbleUpon, LinkedIn, MySpace, YouTube, and Reddit.

If you can, add your company’s website link to your social media page. Great linking opportunity!

It’s also a great idea to ask your site’s visitors to link to or follow your social media pages. While it doesn’t necessarily boost your SEO, it gets your customers interacting with your company.

Create a blog for your company. Link to your site from your blog—another linking opportunity. Blogs provide an opportunity to update content regularly, archive links, and readers boost your ranking with SEO.

Social media is viewed by many as a time-waster. But some companies are realizing its capacity to bring new viewers to their sites and to share quick, important bits of information with loyal customers. Used correctly, social media can also boost your status with the all-powerful search-engines that we are always trying to impress.

Many articles available will tell you tons of techniques to try for managing your SEO (Search Engine Optimization). What a lot of these articles won’t tell you is how to avoid being shunned by the mighty search-engine. Here are a few things you should learn not to do immediately:

Hosting. Be careful about choosing your site’s host. Be sure they don’t allow malicious activity which could affect your ratings and credibility.

Images. Images are great for the web-surfer, but they don’t impress search-engines at all. Search-engines love text and if you can use text instead of an image, use the text.

Misspelling. Some webmasters expect that their consumers may misspell keywords. They compensate by incorporating the misspelled content into their site. The fact is, more consumers know the correct spelling and it will cost you more professional points than it will bring viable consumers to your site.

Keywords. While keywords are a must for SEO, too many keywords can be damaging. Don’t over do it. Carefully plan and anticipate the keywords your customers will type in. Then, stick with those few. Without limiting yourself, you could lose valuable information to a page full of keywords.

Plan your SEO strategy smartly. Be vigilant, but not overly ambitious. If you happen to turn away the search-engines, you could find it difficult to increase your rankings.

Backlinks are a good way to get noticed naturally by search-engines. You basically get brownie points and higher SEO (Search Engine Optimization) rankings for getting noticed versus submitting your site directly to search-engines. You can learn the basics of Search Engine Optimization from the Maritime Web Design blog.

Backlinks are links to your site from other sites. You can strategically place your backlinks with a little dedication. It is easy, but it can become time consuming. Follow these steps to get started with backlinking.

1.Designate the URL where you want to direct people. You should always use the same URL and be very specific about the destination of the link. Many prefer to use their homepage in links.

2.You’ll need html code to make a link. If you know html code, you can create this yourself. If not, find an example of a link in html and incorporate your information into it.

3.Use a keyword in your link. Choose something that is not included in your URL. The web crawlers look at both URLs and your keywords.

Be wary of where you are putting your backlinks. Don’t associate with sites that may get you banned by search-engines. The best possible links you could have are from reputable sites like .gov, .org, .edu., and sites within your field. Be sure you trust sites that you choose to associate with.

Maybe this html backlink tips will help you.

In order to bring your webpage to the top of search-engine lists, you need to carefully plan your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy. Here are a few quick and easy techniques to implement today so you can get started on your optimization.

Content. Update your content frequently. But, be sure that you are updating with new and relevant information. Simply repeating or rewording your existing content could signal search-engines to rank you lower.

Keyword Density. You want to use your keyword proportionately to the rest of your site’s content. Your primary keyword should be less than 10% of your total content.

Links. Links can really boost your SEO. You have a few options for links:
Ask for links, but carefully as too much cross-linking could signal the search-engines to rank you lower.
Get your keywords into incoming links.
Try to get links from sites that have good reputations.

Sitemap. Sitemaps are a great way to boost SEO. Search-engines view them favorably.

Flash. Use Flash sparingly. Search-engines only view Flash as imagery. They can’t read Flash. When you do use Flash, use text to describe what it includes.

These are just a few tips and tricks to managing your SEO. Once you have mastered these, you can move on to more complicated management.
